“meditaions for woman who do too much: Feb 25-Pain”

Todays little meditation was so good I had to share:

PAIN

Iron, left in the rain

and fog and dew,

with rust is covered.-Pain

rusts into beauty too.

-Mary Carolyn Davies

Our pain is ours. Some fo it we have earned, the rest not, and it is still ours. When we fight our pain, we fight the experience of our humanness, and we lose ourselves in the process. A life without pain is a life of nonliving. our pain lets us know and come to understand the full meaning of being human. if we fight the normal experience of our pain, we lose the possibility of experiencing the process of its rusting “into beauty too.”

we dont need to seek pain, but when it is inevitablely there, we have the possiblility of somehting new entering our lives.

MY PAIN  is a possibility. It is not a liability or a punishment.”

What is the pain in your life? What pain are you hiding from yourself unhealthily? take a moment to think about it in a new light. I will be too!

The Kitchen Witch: Living a Magical Life.

faula:

  • Pay attention to the phases of the moon. Know what’s happening in the skies, and notice how (or if) it affects the way you feel.

  • Recognize that you don’t know everything there is to know. Continue learning and growing, and be willing to accept that sometimes new knowledge will…

The Kitchen Witch’s Creed
In this pot, I stir to the sunan’ follow the rule of harming none.
Banishment of bane when goin’ widdershins; an’ with water and salt negativity is cleansed.
Household duties are more than chores. Magick abounds when mopping floors.
With this broom, I do sweep to clean my house and safely keep.
Marigold, Basil, Thyme, and Yarrow my spell is cast for a better tomorrow.
Lemons for joy and apples for health the pow’r within brings great wealth.
And, in this kitchen I do prayTo truly walk the Witches’ Way.

shielding excersises

The university pagan club I am a member of did a shielding workshop this last week that is totally worth blogging about!

To really shield yourself, you must first know your true self. take a moment to meditate, go to your ”happy place”. remember, there are many ways to find yourself, meditate, etc this is but one way of going about it. once in your special place let a bright light shine brighter and brighter until you are simply floating in light. when your ready, feel your center and watch it float out of your mouth in the form of a silver droplet. this is you, leave your body behind and float up. next, reflect on the memories that have developed who you are. once recognized, send them out of the droplet so you know longer feel their influence. next recognize the traits of your personality like kindness, temper what ever makes you a feeling person. again, watch them leave. what should be left is a pure form of your essence, your self independent of influence. this is your true center, true self. learn this part of yourself. also, over time create an association- a picture a sound etc that can instantly call forth this feeling for you. when you want to shield this essentially is what you are protecting- makes the act more efficient!

practice is what makes this work but here is a start!

prayer flags and twinkly lights decorating our dorm ceiling! a fun way to add color and life to these small rooms, plus they make me feel at home :)

the peace lily that i keep in my dorm room to bring nature indoors has bloomed! there are two flowers actually, it is quite wonderful. I have been nurturing this particular plant for about five years now <3
